Bob Marley를 계승한 Ben Harper와 그의 프로듀서 J.P. Plunier 의 
전폭적인 지원으로 어쿠스틱 사운드를 전면에 내세우며 데뷔하게 된 
전도 유망했던 하와이 출신의 윈드 서퍼이자 싱어 송라이터 잭 존슨. 
2003년 On and On 앨범이 빌보드 차트 3위에 오르면서 우리에게 잘 
알려진 그는 2000년대 등장한 싱어 송라이터 중 가장 돋보이는 재능
으로 인정받는 뮤지션으로 아메리칸 트래디셔널 록, 포크, 블루스 등
의 경계를 자유로이 넘나드는 음악 스타일을 가졌다.
잭 존슨은 별다른 홍보없이 어쿠스틱을 기반으로 한 포크-블루스 록 
성향의 음악인 2001년 데뷔 앨범으로 미국에서 플래티넘 (백만장)을 
달성 평단의 호평을 받았고 지금도 식을 줄 모르는 인기를 얻고 있다. 
포크 뮤지션 잭 존슨이 담당한 애니메이션 영화 음악이라고 화제를 
모았던 2006년 앨범 Sing A Longs And Lullabies For The Film
